Would You Step Out On To This?

A living bathmat- that takes the Feng Shui element of surround yourself with living things to a new dimension.  Made from imputrescible foam called plastazote, the mat includes ball moss, island moss and forest moss. The humidity of the bathroom ensures that the mosses thrive.

Do you think you would welcome stepping out of the shower onto this?

  1. I like the look of it but I don't think I'd like stepping on it - wouldn't lots of bits stick to your feet? No I don't think that one is for me - perhaps my guest bath, ha.

  2. I'm not sure...I like the idea but i like my bathroom clean and tidy too. I think it's trippy but not really functional....maybe in a log house?

  3. This would actually go perfectly in my bathroon, but Bella would probably try and eat, so maybe not a good idea to try it just now. x

  4. I love this! Every summer my dad and I fly up to a remote cabin to do some fishing, and there is a shower house a few yards off the main cabin. And once you finish showering, you step out of the enclosure onto the forest floor, which is all made up of that same fluffy forest moss! It's an amazing feeling, especially once you're squeaky clean! Love your blog!

  5. wow:D I don't know if I really like the idea of stepping on the moss..even in the wood I don't step on it because it's so gentle:) but! last summer I've seen bathmats made of little river stones:) That was really pretty and also natural!:)
you can see some of them here: http://www.pebblemats.com/

  8. What a great idea! I think it would take a little getting used to at first, but as long as it didn't get infested with bugs or something, it would be pretty neat.

Nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)

  9. Love the different shades of green.
Yes, I would step on it, but like
dotblogg mentions-I know moss is hardy BUT it does look so "gentle".
Since the base of the mat is made of plastic there could be mold issues. The design is great-
and would look wonderful as a hooked, crocheted or knit rug.

  10. I really like the idea of this... doesn't seem practical though. I think it would feel great to step out onto but then would you have stuff stuck to your feet that you would tramp all over the bathroom and closet and bedroom? Hmm....

  11. I love! Don't think I'd mind stepping on it either, looks soft and so eco friendly! Thinking George might try to eat it too though...

  13. This is really cool. I'd definitely be willing to try it. There's quite a bit of humidity where I live, so it would thrive anywhere in my home.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

  19. based on the shape, I assume you can expand it by adding more sections. My only only problem is getting the lawn mower upstairs...

  20. wow! i actually love this idea and would totally use it! a lot of people don't like to go barefoot in nature, but i figure: at least i know where this nature has been :). i think the only thing i would be worried about is "hurting" the plant by continually stepping on it....would frequent use kill the moss?

    thanks for the post!
