Ten Years- Shut The Front Door

We chose to not find out if you were a boy or a girl. 

Your name was going to be the same regardless.  

I knew you were a boy- because I had a dream when I was fourteen that I would have two boys. 

You were supposed to be born on April 8th 2001 

My water broke on the morning of April 1st

We made some phone calls but no one believed us

We went to the hospital

The nurse said (insert thick Jamaican accent): 

"Honey, this is your first, don't you worry this baby wont come out today."

Jokes on her.

April 1st 2001 9:20 pm

You were the best, cutest, most amazing baby.

I couldn't believe you had chosen me to be your mom.

You walked, ran and swam quickly

Always on the move

You are gorgeous and have the best smile

Handsome inside and out

I love that you just get it and that you roll with it

I love how you don't let the little things bug you

You love to discover and explore- and in the words of your little brother:

'You have the best ideas'

Just like your dad you are good at everything you set your mind to

You have the best sense of humor

You are an old soul 

You have natural empathy and are a healer 

You are a voracious learner and a self motivated seeker of knowledge

You have impeccable manners and engage with others on all levels

I love you so much and cannot believe you are in the double digits and a decade old!
