Origami Medicine

I love this concept by Singapore based artist Chan Min Yun.  Medicine is made in origami shapes which dissolve in water. My monkeys are older and able to swallow pills but they would probably enjoy watching these dissolve none-the-less.
What is even more interesting is the concept of gratitude, while waiting for your medicine to dissolve.  Gratitude for having the luxury of being able to afford and access medicine.

From the artist statement:
Although being able to afford medication means that one is well taken care of, the notion of medication has always been dreaded.
The experience of watching the blooming medicine serves as a form of emotional relief in addition to physical relief from the medication; by slowing down our pace, creating a moment to take a breather, and reflect on what we are blessed with.Luxury is feeling blessed in the face of adversity.

In the rare occasions that I do need to take medicine I must remember to focus on gratitude for having medicine to take.
Happy Monday!

Very creative. You are so right about all the luxuries many of us take for granted. Many folks would just love to have the usual things, but can't afford it. I know that I'm fortunate and I appreciate it, everyday.

I love this. I love the connection he's making to the soul, to experience in a visceral way to help a healing person connect to the substance that should be healing them.
