Thrift Shopping In Vienna- Bananas

There are a plethora of antique shops all around Vienna- most of them are shops with items of value that in a sense have already been 'discovered'.
To me thrifting is about finding something that has not been recognized for it's value (or that has but is still well priced) or something that is valuable on a personal level.

I walked into Bananas on a Friday afternoon and there were a bunch of chill guys (owner included) sitting around drinking beers.

Come take a peek inside:

These wooden and metal cabinets were rescued from a office building in France.

I loved so many of the lighting fixtures-
This thread lamp was in mint condition and I loved it's sexy curvature.

This light fixture was on the wall, not ceiling

Reminded me of that thick old fashion glass that windows used to made out of.

Love the lamp with the tentacle like appendages

Cool magazine rack with French headlines

Um- I have the card somewhere… as soon as I find it I'll post the address!

That looks like my kind of store! I saw a handful of things in there that I would love to own :)

But I agree with you, I much prefer to discover things of value (to me) rather than have everything curated already...and usually marked up!

But still, I would love to have a store like this near me :)

Now this thrift store I could handle. :) Often I get overwhelmed by the masses of clutter everywhere in thrift stores . . . this one seems much more manageable.

Wow, what a great shop! That metal cabinet has my name written all over it - I have been looking for one of those for AGES!

Hugs and enjoy your Sunday :)

What a great find this place is! That light fixture (on the wall) looks kinda like a clock. Bananas is fitting.

What a cool name for a shop! Where you able to purchase anything? It looks like a fun place to spend an afternoon.

Hope your Mother's Day was a great one, and hey you can celebrate again tomorrow, May 10, Mexican Style!

I told myself when we're in Europe this fall I could only buy from thrift shops. I will have a hard time not shipping furniture home ;)
