Never Let Me Go- Kazuo Ishiguro

This is the best book I've read in a long time.  I read a lot so I think that is saying a lot.
It's a little bit Margaret Atwood's- Handmaids Tale and a little bit Philip K. Dick's- Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep- and a lot good.
It is so good that when I was half way done part three (the final part), I put it down for a day just so that I could make it last for longer- I don't usually do this kind of nonsense.

If you want to know what it is about google it- but I started it without knowing much about it and think that is better- as it is a slow, tantalizing reveal.
I guess they just made a movie of this book starring Keira Knightley but I don't know anything about it-
I recommend the book- it is fantastic.
Here is a great article by one of my favorite authors- Margaret Atwood- about Never Let Me Go

I want to see this movie, which means I need to read the book first! The author sounded so familiar so looking through my collections - I have and have read his book "nocturnes" - a little book of short stories. so good =)

I have read a lot of positive reviews about this book and just had to stop because too much was being revealed. Have already ordered it. Was not aware that a movie was in the works. Thanks for the recommendation.

Strong recommendation indeed. I haven't been reading much as of late but still keep my list going in hopes I make the time. My daughter however makes time so I'm sending her this one. I have been wanting to see this movie as well. I believe it also stars Carey Mulligan.

We read that in our book club and I too loved it. I was surprised it took me this long to find out about such an amazing book! I'm excited about the movie, assuming it's anywhere near as good as the book.

Hooray, this is one of those titles I've read more recently that just *got* me! So lovely that you enjoyed it :) And now, I'm off to read Atwood's review...she is another favorite writer!

P.S. I haven't heard much about the movie, other than Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan are in it, but I'm really curious.

Thanks for the link. I love it when writers write about writers, filmmakers about other filmmakers... They know the craft, and feel it so personally... xo bb

I don't read enough these days but I'm putting this on my to-read-someday list! I like Keira Knightley so I'll probably see the film... but I must read the book BEFORE (it's always better than the film, isn't it).

Thank you Ren for this recommendation! I love Atwood's novels and anything what is similar with her style is worth reading. I'll try to find this book somewhere here for sure!:)

Oh! And don't worry you're not the only one who does this funny pause in reading just to enjoy the book for longer:D

I'll have to add this one to my list, especially because you wanted to delay the inevitable(finishing the book). That means it was worth savoring and languishing in its contents:-). Happy Thursday. xx

I'm laughing at you, putting the book down so it lasts longer. I do that too! Crazy, right?
Thanks for sharing this, i'm going to check it out and might read it too.

I've been hearing a lot about the movie and everyone has hands down, recommended reading the book first. And now I see it on your blog. Clearly, the universe is trying to tell me something! lol

You know I saw the movie and loved it. And I am a HUGE fan of the Handmaids Tale - that's a superb correlation btw.

I'm going to grab the book this weekend. Thanks for sharing.
