New Dish, New Drink, New Injury

For two days our house smelt of chocolate- hot gooey lovely delicious chocolate.
One of the ingredients needed for this amazing recipe was a dark ale.  Dr. J picked up a beer I've never tried before called Moose Drool.  Being fundamentally Canadian I thought it was a great name- now add to that that I am not a huge beer drinker and that we are now on our SECOND six pack- because I can't stop drinking it- and well- I consider this blog worthy-
Moose Drool = Great Beer
The recipe.  Not a dessert, is a short rib meat entree.

This photo does not do it justice but Dr. J removed all the meat off the bone and with mashed potatoes and bok choy it is just plain amazing.
Here is the recipe and if you are not already familiar with David Lebovitz's blog- You are in for a treat!

Now in other news I have carpal tunnel syndrome- in part because my thin, dainty, aristocratic wrists are predisposed to it and in part (I choose to blame it on) WORD VERIFICATION.
Word Verification serves no purpose that I can see.  If you choose to moderate your comments then it really doesn't make sense to have this feature.  Nothing frustrates me more than reading a great post- leaving a comment and then having to type in a word verification.
Maybe I'm missing something here- Is there a reason that you choose to keep word verification on?
Please let me know so I don't look like an ass.
Cheers!

Sláinte! I abandoned word verification a while ago, except for posts over a week old. That seems to work well and has kept out absolutely all the spam.

Moose drool, i drool over the beautiful print on the bottle. A deadly combination for me, ilovebeer and ilovebeautiful prints. Guess it's not available here, better for me....:)
I will try to put the word verification off, you are sooo right.
Have a happy thursday.

1. i am so with you on word verification, it drives me insane. in my head i'm screaming 'i'm not reading blogs that have them anymore!!!' but of course, i'd miss them too much. but oh my gosh, you cannot begin to imagine the desperation in which i wish it didn't exist!!!
2. beer is my favorite beverage i think, i will have to try this sometime

I am with you on the word verification though it doesn't bother me as much as blogs that have music blaring and I have to scramble all over the place to find the button to click it off. Still, some are my fav's so I put up with it.
I think I have CT in my elbow.
I'm a vegetarian who doesn't like beer but the mash and bok look delish!

You ARE NOT medicating your
carpal tunnel syndrome with Moose
Drool!
AND it was not prescribed by YOUR
DR.!
Your MOTHER!
PS. The meal looks delicious AND
NUTRITIOUS.

P.S. Totally forgot, I've considered turning off verification for a while (except for maybe older posts, to help with spam) - reading this has convinced me to go ahead and do it!

Just so long as you can still hold the beer ;D - enjoy!

I love the name of the beer, so funny. I completely agree with you on the whole verification thing, it can become very annoying

lol word verification is up because it cuts down on a lot of spam comments. I don't remember now if I have word verification or not - I probably do - but I used to get full comments in nothing but Kanji characters, or get sex ads. It was so frustrating because I don't moderate my comments so it would be up for hours before I noticed it - and word verification put a stop to it.

I promise you, we don't have word verification up just to make your life harder! lol :)

How awful, I had word verification and post moderation and you reminded me how stupid it was to have both - thanks for the heads up! It really is annoying.

Love the name of that beer!

I'm hungry now. I don't have word verification. I promise. Your wrists are safe with me.

Oh I HATE word verification too!
Blogging is totally a risk factor for carpel tunnel syndrome.... you need to get one of those wrist cushions for support.

I'm going to look out for that beer : )

It was always a problem for me in Canada... I didn't like beer... But recently I have begun to taste some very nice brews. Actually at a cheese tasting recently, we were given beer rather than wine with cheese. It does very well together! xo bb

Sorry, just read the last paragraph... So sorry to hear about the carpel tunnel syndrome. I hope there is a treatment that can help. I guess word verification is meant to reduce spam comments. But truthfully there aren't that many spam comments and they are easily deleted.... xo bb

Best name for a beer I've ever heard.

Thank you so much for all of your comments and well wishes!
I do realize that word verification is meant to reduce spam, however, comment moderation serves the same purpose and I want to make it as easy and comfortable for others to leave comments on my blog-Not make people jump through hoops just to leave a comment.

I certainly would never stop visiting a blog that I enjoy just because they have word verification!
But I'm done you will never hear me speak of word verification on this blog again!

I love your word verification rampage!!! It gets even worse (when you have to wait for a new window to open (sometimes twice!!!) and you have an internet connection as slow as mine! Sometimes the comment windows never even open--oh oh oh i will not miss this internet! AND Even when I get a spam-looking comments and go to the blog entry that they have been attached to, they don't actually show up on the blog itself. Google is really frickin' good with spam!

Maybe You'll Enjoy These Too...
