What I Found Thrifting

I am so happy when I find awesome things- after spending quality time digging through aisles, racks and piles at a thrift shop.  My local favorite second hand shop- Savers- has a policy where if you bring items to donate then you get a 20%  off coupon- all the more fun.

Found this awesome sweatshirt for the monkeys (they share clothes since they are the same size despite their two year age difference)- I got this for less than two dollars and I am excited for them to wear it when we travel to Canada at the end of the summer.

I found this set of small wooden bowls.
They are a perfect substitute for the plastic dinnerware we use around the pool.
These are classic 1970's bowls that growing up I remember everyone having having a set.
We actually own a large version of this bowl that my parents got as a wedding gift!

If you look very closely the larger bowl (which is older than me and is used constantly) has a crack in it.

The crack happened when we were living in Toronto and my youngest was playing on the kitchen floor- sitting in it and spinning around- Well he crack it and I keep it because it reminds me that my 'almost as tall as me' monkey was once was small enough to fit into this bowl!
I also like using the big bowl when I bring salad to friends houses- it's light, can fit a lot and won't break-

I am always on the look out for trays to use outside- this one is metal, has great depth and a great color scheme.

Finally- this air tight cookie jar- I want to start making more healthy cookies to leave on the counter- These almost finished ones are oatmeal raisins.  For anyone who has growing boys- there comes a time where they start eating you out of house and home- we're there- and they are ALWAYS hungry.

Hope everyone has a great weekend-

Have you found any great thrifted treasures lately?

Things I Saw Thrifting

I have a running list of things I am looking for and love the rush of finding the perfect item.
Presently, I'm looking for seating: for my master bedroom and my monkeys rooms, curtains (I want to sew something using vintage fabric), I have BIG plans for mason jars and I will buy anything that I can bake bread in- mildly obsessed with making bread these days-
If you have not seen my 'how to' vlog on no-knead bread please check it out- here

Some things I saw:
I swear these are the same seats I used to sit on when I would ride the 'Red Rocket' to school in Toronto
Pretty sure I need something like this for somewhere

What a perfect cuddle seat! I can just picture the four of us on this!
That lion looks like he ate a mouse.

A banana split chair

I love the idea of a telephone table- my grandmother had one of these-
G-d knows I never sit and talk- Multi-task- what is this world coming to?!

Love this- It folds up to be 'small' and compact!

Old- fashion luggage is so trendy as a home accessory- certainly with present day weight restrictions it would not be worth it's weight to use it for its intended purpose.

I like the style of the first chair and the fabric of the second- They should get married.

And I did BUY some things:
We have NEEDED one of these forever and even though my youngest already ripped off part of the equator ("I couldn't help it mom") the monkeys really love this globe- I like that it has measurements, really spins, has tidbits of information, elevated mountain ranges and Israel.
An Abacus- I need to learn to use it so I can teach the monkeys-

Oh you just wait- I'm going to jar the whole world up.

So in love with this vintage 1970's sheet-
It looks as if it has barely been used, vibrant colors and not at all worn.
I'm going to make something amazing out of it!

Maybe You'll Enjoy These Too...
