This film opens up with a married couple, played by Steve Carell and Julianne Moore, having dinner and her asking for a divorce.
Blindsided by this news the plot quickly thickens when the other cast members appear, one by one and the overlapping love triangles and relationships emerge.
I am not one to get girly crushes on movie stars, however,
Ryan Gosling is extremely easy on the eyes. Furthermore, his character has a fantastic house with great architecture which I find makes him all the more appealing. (Click to read my review of
Blue Valentine)
I enjoyed this film because aside from a fantastic cast, it is not predictable.
This is the third film I've review where
Julianne Moore plays a cheater (
and here).
Have you seen Crazy, Stupid, Love?

i wanna see it now!!! thanks!!!
i was just talking to my co-workers about this movie over lunch! it is so wonderful...and you're right--totally unpredictable! it was one of those things where once i realized the connection, i wondered how i didn't see it earlier, but the entire movie, i was clueless:) such a sweet story and awesome acting.
I ADORE this movie - this was one of 2011's best surprises because I thought it was going to be such a bad movie and I ended up going to see it with my guy because my friends were just RAVING about it. And it totally lived up to every expectation I had and more! Great review for a great movie (and yes, Ryan Gosling is very easy on the eyes in this movie.)
haven't seen it but it is in my queue! thanks for the review!

I saw the movie in the airplane when I flew to New York last month. and when I returned home I saw again with Hubby. I couldn't resist watching Ryan, I think I developed a crush!

Not yet, but I really want to see it it! Glad to hear you liked it

P.S. Happy New Year:D
I like this film
One of the few films I saw last year at the theater. I also, did enjoy the characters, and the film over all.
I thought it was a good movie, not great, but good. I thought the Ryan Gosling/Emma Stone relationship was very well played and incredibly believable. I also am in love with Steve Carell, so that helps. :)
