We had the opportunity to make tortillas with our host family.
The mixture is one part flour, one part corn meal and it is mixed with water to make a dough
We rolled it into balls and then using plastic and a plate we flattened them.
I have seen them cooked on large flat stones as well as on metal frying pans without sides- I think a regular uncrowded pan will work fine.
Yum- Fresh tortillas
Do you enjoy tortillas?

How delicious! I can't resist a corn tortilla!
being mexican i LOVE tortillas, although if I wanna keep my figure i have to keep tortillas to a minimum :) Those pictures are SO CUTE!!!
I could eat tortillas all day long if I had the chance - particularly if you add a little sharp cheese (a sharp cheddar or goat cheese would work nicely) with some black beans. Thank the lord I live in Southern California where good Mexican food is right around every corner. :)
Do I enjoy them? Oh dear is that an understatement - LOVE them. I am an Arizona girl, been eating them all my life. Nothing beats fresh homemade and we are lucky to have a several local places here where we can get them. We love them with our eggs in the morning :)
I've never tried to make them myself though.
I have never made tortillas but enjoy eating them. It looks like it would not be too difficult to
make them. Guatemala, what an exciting adventure you are all having. Love the pictures.
I love tortillas, but the one time we tried to make them at home it was like a hurricane went through our house!
