Street Art In Prague and Vienna

I have always loved graffiti and mural art.  I can never understand why some people don't like it or think of it as a nuisance.  Sure there are times when it is just plain vandalism but I'm referring to street art where someone puts any degree of effort into their work.
I think graffiti and mural artist, should be touted as contributing members of inspiration to others.
Here are some photographs I took on our trip:

I just love this one- I mean look at it- pure genius

Check out my photos of graffiti art in
Venice Beach
and mural art in
San Francisco

Great post, Ren! As well as the other two, you really have a great collection of photos here! I share your passion for graffiti art & was planing to do a similar post after my trip to NYC but I only got one good photo. So I really admire your diligence in capturing so many works of art from so many different & interesting places.

I am with you. I LOVE graffiti and the ones you captured are incredible. I always snap pics of it around NYC and have a small collection going of my favorite works.

PS: Sorry to have triggered some unfavorable memories for you with my last post! At least you've gotten to experience some interesting, if somewhat unsavory, things while traveling.

I've told you before and I'll tell you again. I love street art! These are great. My favorites are the skeleton and the one that sort of looks like anime.

Great post!!

Amazing stuff. Thanks so much for your comment on my Flamingo post. I don't usually write so much, but have been thinking so much about creative work and the internet! Always happy to see all the inspiration here.

I totally love this type of art too, I really think it makes people happier if it's around, even if they don't think they notice it.

Those tanks and diggers are hugely impressive; I would stop my car and stare and stare.

Street art is some of my favorite types of art. I think that those who don't like it just don't understand it and see it as just people tagging.

I am drawn to street art but can understand wh others might not be too keen on it - it's in your face kind of art and not housed in a museum ( in a museum one can decide whether one wishes to see a given exhibition or not whereas in street as one is somehow robbed of that choice altogether ). XX

Great finds... loving the second one since I secretly wish I was a mermaid... at least that is what it reminds me of.
Have a fab day!

I LOVED this post! I am an avid fan of street art myself and wish that more cities would commission graffiti and murals to cover ugly overpasses and nondescript buildings!

Thanks for the wonderful collection of European street art, it's fabulous :)
