I have read seven out of nine of Toni Morrison's books.
So much of what I have read of her work is embedded in my memory. It is not for the faint of heart or for those that want to forget the ugly parts of American history. It is raw, real and amazingly written.
Novels
Toni Morrison is the first black woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993 and she has also won the Pulitzer Prize for her novel Beloved which Oprah Winfrey starred and produced a film by the same title in 1998.
You may click on any of the links above to learn more about each of the novels.

I've read a couple of her books also. Very powerful! Her life story is also very interesting!
I thought I was doing well but now I see I have only read THREE of them. Must amend. I agree, she is a great writer.

I haven't read nearly as much Toni Morrison as I should have-thank you for reminding me of such a stellar American author!
I have read a couple as well.... very moving and true... not for those who can't handle a graphic portrayal of life!

She's incredible. One of my literary heroes. I'm so glad that so many young folks today are reading her through their school curriculum. No one should be allowed to forget the "ugly parts" of American history, you know?
