Queen of Creativity

My mom is the most creative person I know.
The monkeys received a handmade card from her in the mail yesterday.

It read (in part):

When I was a little girl, in the spring I used to put out bits of yarn in our garden. Within a few days it all disappeared. The birds would fly down, pick up the yarn and carry it off to their nests.

She sent a ziplock bag full of yarn bits and explained further:

The yarn should never be too long because the birds could easily get tangled up in it.

The wind has been whipping around the mountains viciously for the last few days. Hopefully it will settle down this weekend and we can help the birds out.

i LOVE this!! Your mom is awesome and so sweet to think of sharing this experience with your monkeys. Of course, I have a special place in my heart for "birds".

I am going to do this with my kids. They will love the idea of giving birds nest material. We get quite a few nests built round about the yard - perhaps they will be able to see the yarn woven into one of them!

What a totally sweet idea! I am going to go out with my boys in the morning and set out some yarn. If it is pretty enough, perhaps the wee nests will be little woven rainbows! On the subject of birds and nests, here is a link to a live camera beside a hummingbird whose eggs are supposed to hatch in the next day or so. Your lot may find it nifty!

This is my favorite post. I like how it reminds us to step back and take a moment to realize what's going on outside our own little bubbles.

What a darling little card! I love that idea and might have to raid our littleDIY nesting material dispenser
for some of our yarn so can create a little paper version like your Mom!

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello earlier, I just replied to your question about the bathtub puffy paint :-)
