I am a food snob. I like to make things from scratch. When GMan brought home this Cheerios Cookbook from his weekly class visit to the library I told him we could make ANY recipe he wanted. Then I modified it to ANY recipes without marshmallows (there are 13 recipes that call for marshmallows or a variation like peanut butter or corn syrup- come on General Mills!) So he chose Bee’s Knees Banana Muffins. Even though I have all the ingredients to make healthy banana muffins (sneak in some flax seeds every time) I went to get this box of banana nut muffins because I decided that in this case being a ‘good mom’ meant following the ‘recipe’. There is a streusel on top which is a Cheerio crumble and GMan had loads of fun crushing the Cheerios in a Ziplock.
One box of Banana Nut Muffins
Follow box directions
Add 1 ½ cups crushed Honey Nut Cheerios
½ cup skim milk
Streusel:
¼ cup crushed Honey Nut Cheerios2 teaspoons flour
2 teaspoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons crumbled butter
Sprinkle a bit of this onto each muffin and make as you would make muffins.
On another note we had a “Five” party last night- which means Sir S. was SO good at school that his teachers gave him all fives on his ‘positive reinforcement chart’. So Dr. J and I enjoyed some vino, we made popcorn, ate as many Cheerio Muffins as we wanted and watched an episode of the Amazing Race. We also like to do ‘wish bones’ which I save from our Friday night dinners.

Congrats Sir S! I would have loved to be in on that party!
Your a great mom! I used to love cooking with my mom when I was a kid...I still like to when I get the chance...but no marshmallows...I bet those were the best recipes.
PS
I will have to try the wine and muffin combination sometime.
sweet, the muffins looks so good
Never heard of a Cheerios cookbook.
You are a great Mom despite the veto on the marshmallow recipes.
Jason's furniture is fabulous, I can't wait to see his kitchen cabinet line!
